Joses is absolutely amazing! They use fresh ingredients and its a cozy family restaurant. Theres not a single thing i dont like on their menu and theyre always impressing with theyre delicious mexican food and warm personalities! I love love love their chile rellenos and tamales. Best mexican food in northern michigan by a long shot. I recommend every try it! Especially those who enjoy authentic mexican. Barbacoa is to die for! I could go on and on.. 5 stars is an under statement.
My husband and I were there yesterday (October 20, 2017), and had the burrito and enchilada platters. They were so good! Great food and great prices. Also, a wonderful view of the bay from the restaurant. We were there after the lunchtime rush and the only customers so Jose came out and chatted with us. It's a very nice family-run restaurant.
Some of the food is great. The reason for only 3 stars is the bland rice and beans they serve with the dishes. They lack flavor. Mexican food is FULL of flavor. Cumin, garlic, onion, peppers, salt and pepper... I'd love to see them step it up. Add some corn or black beans to the rice... Anything!!
First time visitor to Jose's today & it was wonderful! We had a very large to go order first thing after they opened. Jose was so friendly and helpful, seems like he truly loves what he does. When i picked up our order he helped me carry stuff out to the car, even giving us boxes & crates to better carry our food boxes. After helping take stuff to the car he even gave a hug thanking us and wishing us a merry christmas. Will definitely be back many times!
Stopped in for national taco day. Had the steak tacos. Damn good. Nice people working there too. Also had my favorite hot sauces. Great place
