EXCELLENT Dr, I was from out of town and broke my leg on vacation. Went to the hospital ER in Petoskey and was referred to Dr Scott Nemec. Had out patient surgery and received 7 screws and a plate in my spiral fracture of the Fibula. I had several people when I was on crutches ask me who my Dr was and when I mention Dr.Nemec, they said, "he's the best". I figured being in snow ski country he had to be of good standing considering how many injury's he sees in his practice.

Dr.Nemec is a horrible doctor. He ruined my life. He was the attending physician on duty when I was admitted into the hospital. The doctor was to lazy to actually come and see me and took the word of the interns that I only had a small fracture that needed to be casted as soon as swelling went down. So they sent me home in absolute horrible pain, in those two days waiting to go back, I developed Compartment Syndrome in my leg. Long story short if he would have actually looked at the exrays that night and not two days later he would have seen that I had extensive damage to my tibia and my knee joint that required surgery and two plates, 20 something screws and eventually a total knee replacement. All that I could have recovered from, but what I have to live with for the rest of my life is the damage in my leg from the Compartment Syndrome. Thank you Doctor. I am writing this on a day 41/2 years later in aweful pain. I thought you would like to know how I'm doing.

I have been an RN since 1977. That said, I have had a left knee replacement and a shoulder replacement both performed at UofM.. The doctors were wonderful! Then I needed a right knee replacement and I was strung along for 3 years by Dr Wittenberg. By then, my L ankle was a total disaster. It was Dr Nemec that saved me! Yes, he is a very serious individual...but when he is operating on YOUR ankle...that is his focus...YOUR ankle. He does not approach surgeries as an assembly line...but takes each surgery individually. To those who had to wait what seemed an unseemly time to be seen...don't blame Dr Nemec....I would entrust all my orthopedic surgeries to him.

I waited for 6 MONTHS to see Dr. Nemec at Baystreet in petoskey. Finally went in and waited in waiting room for over and hour, waited in doctor room for 20 mins and then when he finally came in he was attending to me for no more than 5 mins. NOT PROFESSIONAL. He gave no advice for at home care, no possible ideas as to why I am in pain, and to make things worse, at my second appointment, he proceeded to ask ME what I think we should do about my pain. Isn't that why I pay good money to see you, doctor?

Wife Judith fell and broke her wrist on a Weds. Dr. Nemec was very caring and had her all fixed up by Friday with a plate and 7 screws. Follow up was very professional.
