I was looking for a truck and tow dolly for a cross-country move and contacted this location. I was informed that they had a truck but no dolly. I said that was fine, that I would take the truck and worry about the dolly later. When I arrived to pick up the truck, their computer system was down so it took a significant amount of time to go through the process. It doesn't help that while the man was helping me he answered a phone call and had a long conversation with the other end while I got to sit and wait. He informed me that they had a dolly at a location 2 hours south of us and I requested that instead of making them drive the dolly to him, he get the information from them and have them drop it at my apartment which was on the way. He said he would check and let me know if that was possible and we went out to the truck. After I arrived home with the truck I went to back it into position, but it wouldn't start. I contacted Budget's roadside assistance line and they arranged for service. Budget told me not to load the truck because I would have to switch trucks if it couldn't be repaired. While I waited, the man from Petoskey called me to tell me that the dolly had arrived up there, 40 minutes back north of me. He didn't even check about having the dolly dropped at my place. I told him the truck wasn't working and he apologized. At about 6:00 on Friday evening, the truck was fixed. I started loading and planned to pick up the dolly the next morning right before I left. When I called Saturday morning nobody answered. I called about 12 times before I called the Budget customer service line to explain my issue. Eventually I discovered that they were closed for the weekend because Monday was Labor Day. The guy from the Petoskey location knew he was closed for the weekend and never called to make sure that the truck was fixed or to make arrangements for me to pick up the dolly since it was still sitting on his lot. What ensued was the most horrific experience of my life trying to deal with a company. All this guy had to do was make a quick phone call to give me the dolly number, but he failed to do it. Do not use Budget...ever!

Filled my box truck at the Meijer nearby and pumped gas until it shut off, not wanting to overfill. Put $57 worth in and the gauge read Full. Returned the truck and no one was at the location. The location was unsecured, the dollies and trucks were just sitting out. Called later to check and make sure everything went smoothly only to find that they had charged us for not filling the tank! Called the location and was told that the tank wasn't filled to the brim. I asked if it was possible that gas could have been siphoned seeing as the location was unsecured. I was told that siphoning was not likely (however it was quite possible). I was charged for an additional 9 gallons plus $30 on top of that for the trouble. When I received the truck it was not filled to the brim. The man I talked to on the phone basically brushed me off. The very LEAST they could have done was to call and tell me they were going to charge me. I will never recommend anyone to use Budget, especially this location. Unfortunate because I have found most businesses in MI to be above average. Going to fax a copy of the receipt to the corporate office. Very disappointing experience
